If somebody had told me in January that I would be writing my own blogs within 6 months I would have reached for the gin bottle and a couple of reality pills. I am not a luddite but twitters et al are not part of my daily routine. If that someone had said that by mid-June I would be writing a blog to announce the launch of a television channel in HD that I had helped set up in 5 months I would have been looking for someone else to issue them with the appropriate certificate!
But, here we are! ModelRailway.tvis now live. We passed the launch target of 50 programmes a couple of weeks ago and waited (almost) patiently while the technical wizards converted the films into the programmes you can now watch. We even think we can see improvements between the first few programmes and the more recent ones. One point I am certain about is that not everything that you want to see covered is in these first 50 programmes.
I would also be very surprised if even the next 100 or so programmes (which are in the pipeline and already booked through to next year) will be exactly what you want and in your own priority order. However, please let me know what you want to see. It can be a particular skill you are having trouble with, a show or real railway you can’t get to, a particular new item of rolling stock you would like to see us running on our test track or anything else that you would find better explained by the medium of moving pictures and explained by one of my team of experts.
Where will we be in a year’s time? No wild promises – it’s not my style to promise what I can’t deliver. But, at the planned rate of programme release, we will have passed programme 150 and by then I will still be welcoming your ideas! Enjoy your watching at ModelRailway.tv– and remember you can watch the programmes, when you want, and as often as you want to see them.
