I attended the Unravel Knitting Festival held at the Farnham Maltings on the last weekend in February. It was a lovely, friendly knitting event. There where about 40 stall holders offering a variety of yarns mostly produced by small independent yarn producers and dyers, buttons, dyes, spinning and weaving equipment and other fiber related things.
The West Surrey Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and the Surrey branch of the Knitting and Crochet Guild where there to teach people to knit, crochet, spin and weave, the Guild of Machine Knitters where there to demonstrate machine knitting and I was there running a knitting surgery to help knitters with their knitting problems.
Talks and workshops where run on both days but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend any of them but I'm sure they where all very well received. Linda Newington was also there talking to people about the Knitters Reference Library which is held at Winchester School of Art and Rachel Matthews and Louise Harries of 'Pick your Finger' made a brief appearance on the Saturday.
As well as the trade stands, talks and workshops the organizers had arranged for a number of groups and individuals to decorate the pillars in the cafe area so here are some pictures of said pillar.
