It's a good job I take notice of my cat. Last night when I got in I gave his little body a stroke and let his tail run through my hand. As it did so I realised it was tender for him and felt fatter than normal. He skulked away from me and seeing his tail hanging low rather than up could only mean one thing - cat bite abscess. We have had a large black and white cat in the garden lately and Fred seems to be bothered by him. As soon as it appears Fred comes in and watches from behind the window. This visitor is brave to say the least and doesn't run off like normal cats do. I can only conclude that the cat is an entire tom, in which case, it's no wonder that little neutered Fred runs a mile. After a trip to the vet, an antibiotic injection, anti-inflammatory, pain killer, anti-biotic tablets and Feliway refil, someone else's cat has cost me £79.
Can I please appeal to anyone out there with an entire male cat - bursting with testosterone and sharp teeth, spraying over other people's gardens and attacking their pets - that they do the decent thing and GET IT NEUTERED.
this confirms my belief that toms are agressive. my neighbor's ones are the ones to watch.
