Happy Christmas from Cat World

Hi all,

Only four more sleeps until Christmas Day! We're closing the office from end of play tomorrow, so I just want to take a moment to wish all of Cat World's viewers and readers a very Merry Christmas, from all at Cat World. Here's hoping you all have a good time with your feline friends safe and warm by your side. They may be furry - but they're still family after all.
We'll be back in the new year with even more fun and informative films for you to watch on CatWorld TV, whether it is expert advice from our behaviourist and vets, fascinating feline features or profiles on the breeds that make you tick - we'll have it here in the New Year! Snow good y'know

Rain stopped play today, or rather, snow stopped play. We had a layer of snow last night and it's still here this morning. With flakes in the air, more snow forecast and temperatures at zero, it seems the sensible thing to do is stay here and work from my home office.
How do your cats get on with snow? Fred doesn't like it much. I can see where he has been by the pawprints. Despite having a litter tray in the house, he NEVER uses it. Instead he prefers to go outside and brave the icicles! Cats can get cystitis and urinary problems from holding it in because they don't want to go out in bad weather for a pee. If your cat hasn't got a litter tray, it might be a good idea to get them one for bad weather conditions. They might just be glad of it and it will save you a big vet's bill!

Hi there,

It's been a bit mad here lately as we pull the stops out to get all our magazines off to print before the Christmas break. Anyway I'm back now and I've got a very important question to ask you, reader.

Do you enjoy reading sad stories in the magazine? For example, I had a heartbreaking story from a lady who lost her cat to cancer and being a writer, she knew just how to pull at the heart strings. Now, here's the thing. Pets die, that's a fact and it is all part of owning a pet, but I just couldn't finish reading the article because it was so powerful and so very, utterly gut wrenchingly sad.
So, is that kind of realism comforting or off-putting? Do you want to know about the hurt as well as the fun? Do I need to protect readers from the harsh realities of pet owning, or celebrate all of it. I am tempted to put the article into the March issue, but if I do it will be accompanied by a warning; Maximum Tear Factor - may seriously damage your tear ducts.
